Well its monday.. usually when I way myself.. and happy to report that all is going well my digital scale said 291.8 which I was shocked to see.. but I’ll confirm that tomorrow.. if its steady for 2 days then I can assume that its saying the truth lol So I am down 16 pounds since April 1st or so (sorry not sure of the date but I am assuming its from the 1st day I moved in to my new place).
If anyone is wondering what I am doing well its mostly food habits.. I’ve reduced my calorie intake but nothing insane… I’ve been reading and following alot of people on weight loss journeys and one of the things that I’ve seen over and over again is eat 10 times the amount of calories of the weight you want to be.. so since I am aiming at 185 I should eat 1850 calories and that’s what I am aiming for.. no starving myself or eating below 1500 calories.. I am 6ft I need energy… and anyways the moment you starve yourself your body will rebel.
I’ve cleaned out my fridge and cuboards.. I don’t have anything that I can’t eat.. well when I do groceries I do buy treats and cakes for my brother but he keeps them in his room.. so no access. I’ve purchased all sorts of treats and that does include some munchies like chips, chocolates, nuts, candy.. but everything is measured and separated in baggies for each to contain between 100-150 calories (i have a scale.. I go by precise weight and don’t just eyeball it). I have a basket in the kitchen that is for me and when I need a little something I know I can pick anything in that basket and not feel bad about it and still be able to have ‘bad food’.
Oh another thing I’ve dramatically changed… Sundays are my cooking days. Every friday evening or saturday I go grocery shopping (I prepare a list beforehand of everything i will need for all the meals of the week). On Sunday I do ALL of the cooking for the week and the non cooking too.. which means that I cook all the meals and separate them in individual containers (I use the ziplock containers). I separate all the snacks in little baggies, the fruits, the veggies cut and separated. I make meals for myself, my brother and my boyfriend. So everyone has food for the week and everyone is eating healthy. The boys will probably go through 2 containers per meal and that is fine ! :) So this way I know exactly what I am eating, how much of it and dont have to cook, do dishes or wonder what to eat all week! Its great.. been doing this 2 months now and loving it… ok some days I dont feel like doing it but I still do it and I am happy I did after.
As for exercise.. I’ve been walking home… well to a certain point. I have to ride the subway 8 stations then take a 22 minutes bus ride to get home. So i still take the subway and once out I walk… through a nice park and then streets. 2x a week I take a detour and stop at the indoor pool and swim for an hour… i love the water.. ok I’m a bit shy about being in a bathing suit but I figure I have to do things for myself not for others. :)
